A rare blade for a two-hand sword of the 'Trabantengarde'

Brunswick, dated 1573
Double-edged blade with a long ricasso and in-curved lugs. The ricasso is richly etched with a crown, ornaments, the year "1573" and the weapon number "282". Length 194 cm.
Rare blade from a weapon of the 'Trabantengarde' of Duke Julius of Brunswick-Lüneburg (1568 - 1589). Cf. Müller/Kölling, Europäische Hieb- und Stichwaffen, Berlin, ill. 121 and p. 375.
